San Francisco Local Explosion showcases Bay Area music, and Bay Area music only... no Hollywood bands here! And why not? Great music has always flowed heavy and hard from the best area in the best state.
Local bands get a world-wide audience of over 2,000 (growing by the day) and listeners' weary ears get a change from all the repetitive, money driven junk they hear everyday on stations owned by CBS or Clear Channel.
Local Explosion is different; it's run by one person, two computers and lots of software. I've had offers for ads (or I'll give you this if you give me that) and I turn them down - FLAT. Instead, I personally shuffle through tons of local music sent to me by bands or that I can collect via internet download or CD's purchased at shows and online. I pick the best I can find and put 'em all together in a coherent broadcast of approximately one hour.
